In collaboration with your local school system, the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West offers an award winning Early Childhood (preschool) Program.


We offer a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children who have delayed development, young children from income eligible families, and young children seeking a high quality preschool experience. Our curriculum is language based and focuses on play and hands-on experiential learning. Teachers assist your child in the development of cognitive skills, social and emotional development, and physical development through active learning.

We are proud to announce that all sites within our ESC of Lake Erie West Early Childhood Consortium have received the prestigious GOLD Step Up to Quality Rating! 

Districts Served

The ESC of Lake Erie West's Early Childhood Program serves students who reside in following districts:   
  • Anthony Wayne
  • Maumee
  • Ottawa Hills    
  • Washington Local  

Priority for Registration

  • First Priority - Children on IEPs; and/or
  • Children who are currently enrolled and who will not be age-eligible for kindergarten for the upcoming year.
  • Next Priority - Typical Peers whose families qualify for PFCC, Child Care Voucher, or OPP; then
  • Last Priority - Full tuition typical peers 
  • * Children age 3 or 4; 
  • * Not age-eligible for kindergarten
*This may be changed based on unique situations as mutually agreed-upon with the school district.

Tuition Information

Effective August 15, 2025, a tuition increase will go into effect with the base fee of $472.00 per month.  This adjustment supports staff retention, curriculum enhancements, and equipment upkeep. To help keep preschool affordable, the ESC of Lake Erie West Early Childhood Consortium offers tuition on a sliding scale, based on a family's gross annual income and size.  

Families will be asked to show proof of income to determine their amount of full-tuition based on the sliding scale.

Families may also qualify for programs like the Ohio Preschool Program grant and Publicly Funded Childcare programs. This eligibility is determined by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. 

Sliding-scale tuition addresses affordability directly. It helps:
      -Families below the poverty line access free/premium care.
      -Moderate-income families pay proportionally less than full rate.
      -Programs maintain sustainability and quality.

Tuition Assistance

  • We can help you apply!  
    • You must live within the Anthony Wayne, Maumee, Ottawa Hills, or Washington Local school districts
  • Contact Terri Mabrey, Social Work Coordinator for help
  • Submit an application online or in person
  • Complete a release of information form. 
  • If you receive a denial letter, contact Terri for help to resubmit
  • If approved: 
    • Send Myranda Carter your approval letter in order to register your child(ren).
    • Note that there may be a copay for our program.
    • Myranda Carter will direct you through the registration process.
