PBIS

Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

The Bridge Program incorporates PBIS to establish a safe and positive learning environment for your child. PBIS is a school-wide approach to encouraging positive behavior while preventing and responding to challenging student behaviors. At the Bridge Program, PBIS has three major components: BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, and BE SAFE. Our PBIS Behavior Matrix lists specific expectations for respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors in all areas of the school environment. To create a truly positive learning environment, students are instructed daily on PBIS components using lessons, activities, demonstrations, videos, and role-play. Students also receive direct instruction to build social and emotional skills.

Bullying

Harassment, intimidation, or bullying behavior by any student and/or school personnel at the Bridge Program is strictly prohibited, and such conduct may result in disciplinary action. All students, administrators, teachers, staff, and all other school personnel share responsibility for avoiding, discouraging, and reporting any form of unlawful harassment.

If students witness, or are victim to, what they believe to be an incidence of harassment, intimidation, or bullying, the Bullying Reporting Form can be completed and submitted to Mrs. Theiss. The incident will be investigated by the Leadership Team who will determine if the incident constitutes bullying.
